tehta: (glofi head)
This old stained-glass icon is meant to represent Glorfindel. I am using it in his honour, because I saw some alpine meadows this weekend, and even though it's no longer spring were they EVER diapered with celandine! They looked amazing. I would have taken pictures, only the, er, nature of my alpine excursion made me worry for the camera. Because what I was on was a Klettersteig aka a Via Ferrata: in particular, the Klettersteig Kandersteg. Since that site is pretty descriptive, but short on pictures, here are some taken by someone who clearly does not worry about their camera as much as I do. The whole idea is to take a mountain wall that is only accessible to very skilled climbers, and use some metal rope, lots of thin metal rods, and the occasional bridge, ladder, or sliding-rope, to make is accessible to normal (though vertigo-free and reasonably sure-footed) hikers.

So anyway, as you can see I had a pretty Elfy day, not just because of the celandine-diapering but also because I spent quite a while stapled to a vertical-ish wall--though not by my wrist, but by my climbing harness, which, come to think of it, again resembles a diaper...
