It’s finally here! The day of gifts! By which I mean the Sultry in September fic exchange. I am super excited to read all the things. And I got a gift! My request was rather vague, but [livejournal.com profile] marchwriter used it to construct an atmospheric ghost story starring Gwindor and Beleg, Only Ourselves Remain.
So please go read, comment, and so on.

My own entry is Something Stronger, aka The Fic That Ruined My Life For a While. It’s Aegnor/Glorfindel (though not my usual Glorfindel*, obviously) and it’s a sweeping saga that starts on a beach in Valinor, and ends in a forest in the Second Age. I have never written anything with such grand scope! Or with so much random meta crammed in: I gave poor Aegnor some unique views on First Age favourites such as the Kinslayings and Luthien’s Choice. But everyone loves meta, right?

* Probably just as well! Ecthelion/Glorfindel is the single most popular pairing in the exchange, with four fics. I feel very mainstream. I wish I could be a hipster, like the cool kids.

Aha, so you DID reference the Dwarven tea in the title!

You made Ecthy/Glorfy popular - just think what you could do with Bombadil/Fatty Bolger.

Yes! I will now pay you 10% of all the royalties I make.

And I am waiting for Wulfila's take on B/FB. Bombalger?

Only if it can involve a jealous barrow-wight.

Well, I wrote Finrod/Caranthir, which is *so* obscure that I'm sure you've never read it. (Except I think there was one other fic for them.)

I did read your entry, and will comment publicly in the future. I liked too many things about it to write coherent feedback in the middle of the night. It also really reminded me of college relationships, which makes a lot of sense, given everyone's apparent age, the punting, the studying, and the failed threesome.

Thanks -- I did want them to skew young, since that's probably the only time when Caranthir would be able to unbend enough to give Finrod a chance.

I read yours too! Although it's probably less well considered -- my feedback 'style' (if it can be called that) is more enthusiastic flailings than anything else.

I am not sure that my feedback is "well considered". It's just that, if I do not consider it, I sound like a moooooron.

I admit I was delighted to see a Gwindor tale! And I like your title choice for your Aegnor/Glorfindel fic.
